Saavi

"Saavi" means "Key" in Tamil is a workshop series born to facilitate the journey of adolescents and adolescent parents. The idea of Saavi is to create a space for exploration for families of pre-teens and teens based on Montessori Philosophy. The concept behind the workshop is to explore without any boundaries, experience the moment, share the experience, and reflect from there.

Saavi workshop for pre teens and Teens

Saavi is a series of workshop for the children of age 10 to 13 years. The workshop focuses on 5 basic ideas from Montessori ErdKinder program - Learning with freedom, Purposeful work, Art as an expression, Product making/selling and Positive Peer community. This workshop happens once a month in Chennai and Pondicherry.

Saavi ADO.P.T

Saavi ADOLESCENTS PARENT TALK is an initiative to create a platform for parents of pre teens and teens to connect, share and reflect about their joys and struggles of being a parent of teenage children. The primary focus is to create awareness about the importance of adolescence as a key phase between childhood and adulthood.

Saavi Commune

Saavi Commune is an extended family for teens who are already enrolled in a school or educational program. Saavi Commune facilitates the journey of adolescence by being part of their life. The aim is to create a positive peer community for teens based on Montessori's philosophy.

Saavi commune programs run in a cycle of 6 weeks every friday from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. Each cycle we explore the needs of the adolescence as a community. We explore to identify, experience, accept and acknowledge each others journey in a deeper way. Till we had completed 2 saavi commune cycles and looking forward for our 3rd set of sessions.

Our journey so far...

Saavi workshops began from October 2023. We have conducted 12 saavi workshops till now and reached around 120 teenagers through our saavi sessions. Read our blog to know more about our journey.
