Tafl games, also known as hnefatafl, are a family of strategy board games played on checkered or latticed boards with unequal armies. The core objective of tafl games is asymmetrical: one player controls a king and his defenders, aiming to escape to the board's corners or edges, while the other player commands a larger attacking force attempting to capture the king. TAFL was replaced by Chess after 12th Century.
